Sometimes we have teeth that are weak, severely worn down or damaged, breaking, or even cracked. In order to restore your tooth, we may place a dental crown over the tooth that is the same size, shape, color and strength as your natural tooth. The process of placing a dental crown can also relieve any pain you may be feeling due to having a decayed tooth.
Most of the time, the procedure is needed for just a single tooth, but crowns can also be used where a tooth or teeth have been lost. This is known as a dental bridge. We have a variety of materials that are used to make crowns including metal and porcelain. Porcelain is typically preferred as it will look like your natural teeth, and no one will be able to tell that you have a dental crown.
